1946 – 2012
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Roger Hopkins, at the age of 65 years, at Polson Special, Vernon, British Columbia on June 11, 2012 following a brave and courageous journey with vascular dementia. Roger was born November 19, 1946 in Iroquois Falls, Ontario. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and pondering with friends. He was a pipe fitter and steam fitter, volunteer fire chief and president of Branch 562 of the Legion. Roger will be greatly missed and forever loved by his daughter Connie (Shane) Morris, son Derek Hopkins, grandson Tristin Morris. Forever cherishing his memory are his sisters Helen (Gordon) Henderson, Joanne (Gary) Tomac and brother Gerald (Mary-Ann) Hopkins, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends in the Ottawa Valley. He was predeceased by his brother Keith, mother Theresa and father Wesley. A Celebration of Life will be held in Chalk River, Ontario in the near future. Those wishing to do so may make a memorial donation in Roger’s memory to the Humane Society or charity of your choice.
