LAROCHELLE: Jules Denis Larochelle, age 65 of Ponteix, SK. passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the Herbert Integrated Health Care Facility. The Funeral Service was held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 26, 2012 from Notre Dame d'Auvergne Roman Catholic Church with Father Keith Heiberg officiating. The organist for prayers and mass was Dan Roberge with Robert Carignan singing a solo. Readers were Gilles Stringer and Gisele St. Cyr. Eulogy was presented by Steve Larochelle and intentions were given by Riley and Duncan Larochelle. The cross bearer was Parker Larochelle and urn bearers were Madison Lemieux, Duncan Larochelle, Logan Larochelle, Riley Larochelle, Colby Lemieux, and Lane Larochelle. The interment service took place at Notre Dame Parish Cemetery. Jules is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 43 years, Paulette. His three children Luc (Sheila) Larochelle, Lynne (Richard) Lemieux and Shawn (Carla) Larochelle, all living in Ponteix. Grandpa Jules will be missed by his beloved grandchildren Lane, Duncan and Parker Larochelle Colby and Madison Lemieux and Riley and Logan Larochelle. He will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his sisters Yolande and Irene and brother Pat. Also numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents and four brothers, Rene at the age of four, Guy and Leo, who died as young men and most recently Jean-Noel, just this winter. He was also predeceased by Paulette's Parents and brothers-in-law, Ron Vallee and Joe Stringer. Jules was born on February 5, 1947 at Gabriel Hospital in Ponteix. He had five brothers and two sisters and graduated from Ponteix High School. After High School, Jules entered Vocational Agriculture Program for two years at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon from 1965 to 1967. He married Paulette Stringer on July 20, 1968 in Ponteix, SK He farmed with his father Fernand, eventually taking over the farming business. Jules loved farming and spent every day out there, for more then 20 years, these have been with his eldest son Luc and Shawn has joined in over the past number of years with cattle and when an extra man was needed for grain farming. Jules was involved in our community in a number of ways. He volunteered at the Notekeu Regional Park. He played senior hockey, coached and served as president of minor hockey. He was involved in politics. Jules also served as a councilor on town council for several years. Jules loved and was extremely proud of his family. He loved fishing, hunting, especially spending quality time with his friends and family at Lac Pelletier. He also loved gardening. Due to his failing health, the latter part of his life was spent close to home, enjoying the company of his wife Paulette and frequent visits from many family members and friends. He was a very kind and thoughtful person. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered. In his memory, memorial donation may be made to the Notekeu Regional Park, Box 513, Ponteix, Sk. S0N 1Z0.
