FROSHAUG, Jason Ronald was on born December 5, 1976, at Shaunavon, SK and died at Swift Current, SK, on Wednesday, June 6, 2012. Jason completed his Grade 12 at Swift Current Comprehensive High School. He was employed in a variety of roles over the years including many years in the customer service industry, winning numerous awards for his excellent work. Before his death, he was employed at Wal-Mart in Swift Current where he was a valued employee and colleague. Jason was a very active, busy youngster - his Mother went so far as to call him “cute and bratty”, but became a very quiet, “thought-full” adult who contemplated everything in life carefully. He was shy in many ways, but would open up mightily once he felt comfortable with someone. Over the years, Jason came to love Cypress Hills Provincial Park, enjoying all things nature. He spent happy times with his Dad, Ron, hunting, fishing and holding many a deep conversation around the fire pit at Ron’s home. Jason was also a keen gardener, having already started his tomato plants for this spring’s version. Jason deeply loved his family. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his nephews and was a good uncle. His keen sense of humour often had the family in stitches and his nephews were often on the receiving end of his good-natured teasing. Jason was a good cook, always seeking a new recipe on the internet. He was never afraid to try complicated dishes and his family benefited from his expertise. He lived a simple, frugal life, never asking or demanding much in the way of possessions. Jason was an incredibly avid reader of all things printed, the newspaper front to back, MacLean’s magazine cover to cover and novels by the ton. He was politically astute and thoroughly knowledgeable about all current events, always keeping his friends/colleagues up-to-date with the world’s happenings. Jason is survived and missed by his mother, Eileen (Gary) Knakoske; his father, Ronald Froshaug; his sister, Andrea Bissonnette (Darren), and her sons, Brandon and Liam and step-daughter, Ashley Bissonnette; his Knakoske step-siblings, Lori (Richard) Legault and their sons, Mason and Rylan; Lisa (Todd) Moore and their sons, Carter and Hayden; Warren (Bobbi Jo) Knakoske and their sons, Daxon and Brody; his grandparents, Ernie & Madeline Knakoske and Alfred Ruecker; and by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Even though his lifespan was short, the impact of his life and of his love on this world will live on. He will be deeply missed by many. The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at 2:00 pm from the Church of the Open Bible, Swift Current, SK with Pastor Dave Smith from East Side Church of God officiating. “Amazing Grace” and “It Is Well With My Soul” were sung by the congregation.
