SMITH, Norman Lindsey, 90, resident of Roseway Manor, formerly of Jordan Falls passed away peacefully in Roseway Manor on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 with his family by his side. Born in Jordan Falls, he was a son of the late Howard and Elizabeth (Hayden) Smith. Norman was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a Veteran of the Second World War and a member of Albert Lodge. In his earlier years he worked in Cape Cod, USA for a short time and then returned home to Jordan Falls and worked at Ven-Rez until his retirement. Norman enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, camping and was an avid cribbage player. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, the former Magnolia Decker; daughter, Janet (Wayne), Jordan Falls; grandchildren, Lindsay, Ottawa, Ont; Lisa (Bruce) Swinemar, Comox, B.C; Jonathan (Amanda), Green Harbour; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kali, Jersey and Kadence. He was predeceased by brothers, Burton and Clinton. A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 in Jordan Falls Baptist Church with Reverend Gordon Walker officiating. Burial was in Lake John Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation, Jordan Falls Baptist Church or charity of choice.
