September 10, 1959 - June 15, 2012 - Passed peacefully away at the Miller Centre on June 15, 2012. Margaret Lucas, age 52 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her parents, Cora and Lloyd Simmonds; grandparents, Ross and Hannah Jane Tucker; brothers-in-law: Allan Lucas and Sgt. Donald Lucas. Leaving to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Rodney Lucas; children: Randy and Cora; mother and father-in-law: Ella and Fred Lucas; sisters-in-law: Lisa Stevens (Craig), Wendy Bennett (Terry), Janet Lucas and Natasha Lucas; brother-in-law, Steve Lucas; nieces and nephews: Chelsey, Emily, Jennifer, Matthew, MacKenzie and Jason; special cousin, Wilfred Oldford: and dear friend, Sheila Dawe: also leaving to mourn, her work family at the Salvation Army Divisional Headquarters; special work buddy, Darlene Garland; and all her friends at St. John's West Corps. The family wishes to thank her family doctor, Dr. Louise Rogers; Surgeon, Dr. J Thavanathan; Dr. Siddiqui and the Cancer Centre staff; and Dr. Eaton and staff at the Miller Centre. A special message left for her mother-in-law Ella Lucas: “Thank you to my guardian angel who took such good care of me and accompanied me to most of my chemo treatments. In spite of a bad situation, we had a great time.” Visitation taking place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Tuesday June 19, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
