Leon Furjan
Leon Furjan
Aug 29, 1949-June 23, 2011
It has been one year since we’ve heard your voice. Leon’s death has left a void with all those whose hearts he touched. Leon was passionate about his family and friends, always their greatest supporter. He was proud of his Croatian and Slovenian heritage. Trees were his passion, being in the woods made him the happiest… we all know you are in heaven pruning every tree you can get your hands on.
We wish to thank the following-Rev Gordon Matheson, Father John Lacey, Buddhist Monks Frank and Liu for participating in the Celebration of Life Service. Jeff Davidson (eulogy), Natalia Furjan (speaker), Kim MacDonald (prayer), and Christine Campbell (soloist). Pallbearers-Jeff Davidson, Gordie Dixon, Steve Madden, Dan Miller, Bruce Henry, Gary Mills, and David Smith. Dr. Linda MacDonald, Dr. Spears, and Dr. C. Trainor. First Responders North River Fire Dept, and Island EMS. Thank-you to our families, friends and co-workers for your ongoing support. A special thanks to: Jeff, Charlotte, Marcella, Kathy, Ashley, Jenna, Sam, Char, Jessie, Erma, Jody and Kim for being absolutely amazing friends.
We carry you in our hearts and love you to the moon and back.
Linda, Ted, Natalia (Ryan) Collins, Daniele (Matt) MacLean, and Ava Collins.
Death is Nothing At All
Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you.
For an interval.
Somewhere. Very near.
Just around the corner.
All is well
