It is with great sadness but with a blessed assurance of a great reunion day, that the family of Esther May Cole, age 79 announces her passing on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, N.S. She was the daughter of the late Wilson and Augusta (Mooring) Robinson of Stewiacke, N.S. She has left behind her much devoted husband, Rev. Harold Seeley Cole and her 4 children, John (Darlene) Cole of River Hebert, N.S., Pamela (Guy) Mean of Amherst, N.S., Jonathan (Sherry) Cole of Amherst, N.S., James (Sharon) Cole of Amherst, N.S. and several grand children and great grand children. She is survived by one brother, George Robinson of Stewiacke, N.S., one sister, Helen Robinson of Amherst, N.S. She is pre-deceased by one sister Juanita Mitchell of Brookfield, N.S.
Esther was the loving wife to Rev. Harold Cole and stood by his side for close to 52 years. Esther loved her family and was a mother to many people. She was fun loving and dedicated to God. She was a faithful member of Revival Centre United Pentecostal Church of Amherst, N.S. for 32 years. Before this, she was a faithful member of several other Churches that her husband pastored.
Along with spending 3 years of theological training at UPBI (NCC) in Fredericton, she also took a one year business College Course. She graduated from Bible College in 1959 and married the love of her life. She went immediately into full-time ministry helping the needs of others very unselfishly right up until her death.
She was the Ladies Auxiliary Director for the Nova Scotia District for many years and also the Ladies Director for the Amherst Revival Centre Church for 28 years.
She took after her dad Wilson in gardening and made our world a much more beautiful place with her flowers & crafts. She would be seen many days making flowers for hospital visitation, weddings and baby showers etc.
You are welcome to join with the family on Wednesday, June 20th from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Revival Centre, Faith UPC located at 262 Church Street in Amherst. A Service of Celebration will be held on Thursday, June 21 at 2 P.M. at the Revival Centre, Faith UPC, Amherst, N.S. The Interment will take place at the Amherst Cemetery. Following the Interment, a reception will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Robie Street, Amherst, N.S. For those who wish, a donation may be made to the Revival Centre Building Fund.
