Evelyn Rebecca Keddy - 102, formerly of Aldersville, Lunenburg County, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 17, 2012 in Blomidon Court, Greenwich. Born in South Alton, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Sweet) Dorey. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She was a very active member of St. James Anglican Church, Aldersville and had been a pillar of the community. She is survived by five daughters, Freda (companion Ken) Russell, Mansfield Mass., USA; Greta Sweet, Aldersville; Carolyn (Gordon) Willis, St. Hubert, Quebec; Mona (Paul) Harrod, Lower Sackville; Eileen Colwell, HRM; three sons, Gardner (Shirley) Keddy, Aldersville; Vernon (Ruby) Keddy, North Alton; Gordon (June) Keddy, North Alton; two sisters, Jessie Farrell and Gertrude Nickerson, both of HRM; a brother, Walter (Marion) Dartmouth; 31 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 24 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Guy; a daughter, Ada (James) Grant; grandchildren, Wayne, Debbie, Jerry, and Danny; a sister, Edith; three brothers, George, Howard, and Gordon. Visitation was held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday June 19, 2012 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service followed by a reception was held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday June 20, 2012. Student Minister Nicole Uzans assisted by Mrs. Peggy Hamlin officiating. Burial took place in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Aldersville. Donations in memory may be made to St. James Cemetery or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
