Evelyn Rebecca Keddy - 102, formerly of Aldersville, Lunenburg County, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 17, 2012 in Blomidon Court, Greenwich. Born in South Alton, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Sweet) Dorey. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She was a very active member of St. James Anglican Church, Aldersville and had been a pillar of the community. She is survived by five daughters, Freda (companion Ken) Russell, Mansfield Mass., USA; Greta Sweet, Aldersville; Carolyn (Gordon) Willis, St. Hubert, Quebec; Mona (Paul) Harrod, Lower Sackville; Eileen Colwell, HRM; three sons, Gardner (Shirley) Keddy, Aldersville; Vernon (Ruby) Keddy, North Alton; Gordon (June) Keddy, North Alton; two sisters, Jessie Farrell and Gertrude Nickerson, both of HRM; a brother, Walter (Marion) Dartmouth; 31 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 24 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Guy; a daughter, Ada (James) Grant; grandchildren, Wayne, Debbie, Jerry, and Danny; a sister, Edith; three brothers, George, Howard, and Gordon. Visitation was held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday June 19, 2012 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service followed by a reception was held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday June 20, 2012. Student Minister Nicole Uzans assisted by Mrs. Peggy Hamlin officiating. Burial took place in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Aldersville.
