Barbara Joyce Burns, RN
The death occurred on Monday, June 18, 2012, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, surrounded by her loving family and dedicated health care staff, of Barbara Joyce (nee Stavert) Burns, RN, of Wilmot Valley and formerly of Lower Freetown, aged 56 years.
Born in Summerside on November 8, 1955, daughter of Dorothy (nee Smith) Stavert, Lower Freetown, and the late Walter P. Stavert. She is survived by her loving family consisting of husband Alan; son Britt (Abbey); daughter Jennifer (Adam); mother Dorothy; brothers and sister, Donald (Judy), Gary, Peter (Carol), Nancy (Rohit) and Elmer (Bev); cousin Wayne (Lori) Clark; sister-in-law Heather (Robert) McGinn; nieces and nephews, Kimberly (Dave), Greg (Shelly), Nathan, Isaac, Alex, Sydney, Ravi; and grandnephew Hudson. Predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law Jesse and Dorothy (nee Rogers) Burns.
Barbara always had a soft spot in her heart for animals and will be sadly missed by her family's various pets.
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Friday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment in the Freetown People's Cemetery.
