Passed peacefully away with her loving husband of 53 years, Peter, by her side, Alice Woodley Dawe of Bay Roberts, aged 75 years. Alice was predeceased by her father Woodley French and mother Annie French (nee Forward) of Harbour Grace. Also predeceased by her brother Dr. George French (Shirley); sisters Mary Skinner (Bill) and Rose Taylor (Bert); mother-in-law Ada Mae Dawe; father-in-law Maxwell Dawe; sister-in-law Elizabeth Dawe Archibald and nephew Robbie Archibald. Along with Peter, Alice leaves to mourn her two sisters, Ruby (Ed) Whelan of Harbour Grace and Patricia (Leo) Galway of Riverhead, Harbour Grace.; sister-in-law Maxine Dawe Rombout; brother-in-law Stephen Dawe, special cousins Eric and Ruth Dawe; also leaving to mourn 20 nieces and nephews and many more grand-nieces and nephews with many fond memories. She will be especially missed by niece Helen Clarke (Philip) nee Whelan and her three children Allie, Lauren and Philip Jr., who thought of Alice as a grandmother that they loved beyond words. They grew up next door to Auntie Alice and enjoyed her kindness everyday. Alice was a kind, loving person especially to animals and her cat, Willow, and all the stray cats she tended to will also sadly miss her. Resting at Moore's Funeral Home, Bay Roberts. Visitation on Tuesday: 7 - 9 p.m., Wednesday 2 - 5 p.m., 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from St. John Evangelist Anglican Church, Coley's Point with internment in the St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Coley's Point. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trinity Conception Health Foundation, Angel Fund, Heavenly Creatures or a charity of one's choice.
