HEBB, Charles Alexander, age 91, of Three Mile Plains, Hants County, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Haliburton Place, Windsor, with his family by his side. Born on May 10, 1921, in Woodville, Hants County, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late David and Winnifred (Lynch) Hebb. Charlie worked for over 36 years at DOMTAR Gypsum Plant, Windsor, before he retired. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas, in the Canadian Army. He was a hard working man, a loving husband and father, who could always make you laugh. Charlie will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. Charlie is survived by his wife of 66 years, the former Winnifred “Winnie” Dykens; his children, Vera (Ronald) Lawrence, Windsor; David (Elaine), Mill Section; James (Peggy), Windsor; John, Owen Sound, Ontario; Lorna (Kevin) Chaisson, Scotch Village; Cathy, Windsor; Mary (John) Coffill, Ardoise; Jackie (Mike) Card, Windsor; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Carr, Dykeland Lodge, Windsor; several nieces and nephews. Charlie was predeceased by his daughter, Donna Jean Hebb; brothers, Arthur, Perley, Norman and Lewis Hebb; sister, Mildred MacLeod; half-sister, Maude Martin; half-brother, Lawson, Clyde and Harold Hebb. Hants County Branch No.009, held a Legion tribute, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 21, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor, followed by visitations until 9 p.m. Funeral service was 2 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, in Lindsay`s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Tom Henderson officiated, followed by a reception in the Lindsay Family Reception Centre, 184 King Street. Interment was held in the Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix, Hants County. Family flowers only, donation in memory of Charles were requested to be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
