CORMIER, DENIS A. - 1919 - 2012 - Robertville – Denis A. Cormier, 93, of Robertville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Villa Sormany, Robertville. Born in Robertville he was the son of the late Adélard Cormier and late Elizabeth (Hachey) Cormier. Denis lived in Robertville all of his life. In his younger days he was a blacksmith and spent many winters in the logging camps. He also farmed in Robertville and worked for many years at Northern Machine Works and then S.M.I., in Bathurst, where he worked until his retirement. He was predeceased by his wife, Henrietta (Rita) Nicol Cormier in 2008. He is survived by one son, Henry of Robertville; two daughters: Denise Aube (Richard Harten) of Beresford and Esther Cormier (Richard Manicom) of Ottawa; two granddaughters: Leigh Aube of Saint John and Sarah Duguay of Ottawa; three brothers: Laurent (Carmelle) of Nigadoo, Albert of Cowansville, Que., and Emmanuel (late Grace) of Bathurst; three sisters: Aurore (late Hector) Landry, Léona (Léopold) Leblanc both of Bathurst and Albertine (late Denis) Rocheleau of Cowansville, Que., as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife he was predeceased by his brother, Lucien, and five sisters:, Malvina Desrosiers, Yvonne Pelrine, Priscille Doucet, Émilie Pitre and Julie Cormier. The family wishes to thank the staff at Villa Sormany for their exceptional care and kindness over the past years.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral mass for late Denis will be celebrated on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. from Église Ste-Thérèse de Robertville. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Denis may be made to the Villa Sormany or the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation.
