RICHARD, ALBERT - Albert J. Richard, 92, of Auberge du Soleil, Dieppe, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children at the Dr. Geoges-L. Dumont University Hospital on Friday, June 22, 2012 following a brief illness. Born in Summerside P.E.I., he was the son of the late Jean and Marie-Anne (Cormier) Richard. Albert was a retired manager for Dominion Stores, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6796, a past board member of Caisse Populaire Assomption, past volounteer with Dieppe Golden Age Club, and a past parishioner at Christ-Roi and Ste-Thérèse R.C. Church. Albert enjoyed playing cards, darts, traveling, and the company of his family and many friends living life to the fullest. He will be sadly missed by his three children: Murielle Davis (Wayne) of Fredericton, Jean (Denise) and Janice LeBlanc (Gerry) of Dieppe, seven grandchildren: Sean, Scott, Nathalie, Anik, Serge, Christine, Gilles; seven great-grandchildren: Amy,Caleb, Carter, Cohen, Cassidy, Mya Rose, and baby LeBlanc due in a few days; a brother, Antoine and his sister Edna of Mont Carmel, P.E.I. He is predeceased by his wife, Rita Bourgeois in 2008, also several brothers, sisters, in-laws, and nephews.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until departure (10:15). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse R.C. Church, 160 Ste-Thérèse Street, Dieppe on Tuesday, June 26 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Albert, a contribution to the Dr. Georges-L.
