Archibald ‘Archie’ MacLeod, 72, of Dartmouth passed away peacefully Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Oceanview Manor.
Born in North Framboise, N.S., he was the son of the late Norman Alec and Mary Margaret MacLeod.
Archie managed his own company MacLeod’s Sawing and Drilling for 40 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Greco Canadian Social Club and was also an avid NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret ‘Peggy’, daughters, Laurie Ann (Kenneth O’Brien) of Halifax, N.S., Jennifer (Tyrone) Gibbons of Eastern Passage; sister, Annie (Wilrod) Morrison of Sydney, N.S.; brother Allister (Joan) MacLeod of Cole Harbour; granddaughters, Lindsay, Danielle and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Archie was predeceased by his brother, George and sister, Christine.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2012, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 27 at 2 p.m. with Rev. James Haughn officiating.
