THORNE, CAROLE JOY - It is with great sadness the family announce the death of Carole Thorne who passed away at the Saint John Reigonal Hospital on June 26, 2012; devoted wife for 52 years of Phillip Thorne of Saint John. She was born in December of 1933 to the late Clarence and Edith (Nichols) Norwood. Carole was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed going on road trips, knitting and cooking. She will be forever missed and loved by those who knew her. Besides her husband Phil she is survived by her loving daughters Trudy Thorne and Paula Thorne both of Saint John; brothers Otty Norwood (Perdita) of Connecticut and Don Norwood of Moncton; sister-in law Margaret Norwood and sister-in-law and best friend Barbara Thorne of Quispamsis; brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides her parents she was predeceased by brothers Andrew and Clarence Norwood and sisters Gloria King, Hazel McNulty and Helen Gautreau.
Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road with visitation on Thursday, June 28th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 29th at 10:30 a.m. Private family interment at a later date.
