It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Robert Joseph Bennett announce his passing on June 27, 2012 at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, NL at the age of 81 years. He leaves to mourn his children: Sylvia Gabriel, Raymond Sheppard, Marjorie Bennett (Gilbert), Odell Pittman (Edward), Shirley Bennett, Alexander Bennett, Sandra Hickey (Nicholas), Marina Bennett (Bradley); 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother Richard Bennett (Noreen); sister Olive Chabot as well as a large circle of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Alexander & Gertrude Benoit; wife Susan, son Michael, grandson Joshua and brothers: Raymond, Ronald and Roy. Visitation will take place from St. Ann’s Chapel in Flat Bay on Friday from 7 – 9 p.m. from where the Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Gerard Patry officiating. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Flat Bay. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
