It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Howard Gerald Reilly, 84 of New Glasgow, N.S., formerly of Hamilton, Ont. and Cape Wolfe, P.E.I., a son of the late Bernard and Teresa Reilly.
Howard was born in Cape Wolfe, P.E.I., spent his working years in Hamilton, Ont. and his retirement years in New Glasgow, N.S.
He is survived by Helen Reilly, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; his children: Heather (Emmanuel) Kays, Charlottetown, P.E.I; Linda (Allen) Dow, North Rustico, P.E.I. and Barry, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; his grandchildren: Bobbi-Jo (William) Baker; Tabitha (Dalbert) Livingstone; and Albert; and by one great-grandson, Isaiah Allen. He is also survived by brothers and sisters: William, Halifax, N.S.; Irma Allen, Hamilton, Ont.; Mae Wedge, Hamilton, Ont.; James (Janet), Burton, P.E.I.; Eileen (Dale) McKenna, Alberton, P.E.I.; Rhoda (Frank) McCarvell, Hamilton, Ont.; and by sister-in-law, Theresa, Hamilton, Ont; and brothers-in-law: Alfred O’Connor, Hamilton, Ont. and Emmett Griffin, Brocton, P.E.I. and a host of nieces and nephews.
Howard was predeceased by his long-time partner, Rose Davidson, New Glasgow, N.S.; and the following brothers and sisters: Thomas, Cape Wolfe, P.E.I.; Winnifred (Lorne) Shaw, Cape Wolfe, P.E.I.; Doris (Reginald) Currie, Hamilton, Ont.; Charles (Marie), Halifax, N.S.; Vernon (Hazel), Charlottetown, P.E.I.; Willis, Hamilton, Ont.; Annie O’Connor, Hamilton, Ont. and Phyllis Griffin, Brocton, P.E.I. and sister-in-law, Laura, Halifax, N.S. and brother-in-law, Arthur Wedge, Hamilton, Ont.
He will be greatly missed by his extended family the Mason and Davidson’s.
Pallbearers: Danny O’Halloran, Frank McCarvell, Kevin Mason, Kent Mason, Wayne Mason, Derek MacNeil and Errol Howard.
There will be a family visitation at the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Home, Stellarton, N.S. on Monday, July 2, at 1 p.m. followed by the funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church at 2 p.m. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
