It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Neil Towriss on Monday July 2, 2012 at the age of 67 years. Neil was born on January 6, 1945 in Moose Jaw and was raised on the family farm north of town. After graduating from high school Neil was employed with Saskatchewan Government Insurance starting as an office clerk, working his way up to road adjuster and later moving to Manitoba, adjusting for Manitoba Public Insurance Corporation. In 1974 he relocated to Moose Jaw going back to SIAST Palliser Campus and obtaining his journeyman papers for carpentry, later working for North & Rundberg Contractors, Moose Jaw Sash and Door and C & S Builders. Neil was a former member of the Moose Jaw Wildlife Association. From the time he was young he was a great outdoorsman spending many hours hunting and fishing. A drive in the country was always one of Neil's favorite pastimes enjoying looking at the crops. He spent many hours in his retirement reading and doing paint by numbers. Neil was predeceased by his parents, John and Helena; son Jeffrey Robert. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter Deborah Rowley(Brody Schoffer); mother of his children SheilaAnne Powers; two grandchildren Jordan and Brooke Rowley; brother Wayne (Joyce); sisters Glenna (Mel) DeKelver; Laura (Frank) Martineau; and numerous other relatives. A Graveside Service will be held at Sunset Cemetery on Friday July 6, 2012 at 3:00 pm. Reverend David Moore will officiate. Those attending may meet at the Cemetery gate at 2:45 pm.
