May 2, 1913 – July 2, 2012. Surrounded by family, Veronica has gone to join her husband George (1987), son George, Jr. (2001), daughter Sheila (1943), and her three infant children. She has also been reunited with her brothers: Michael, Gerald (Rita), Leo, Harold, Frank and Derm (Dot) and sisters: Gertrude McKay (Andy) and Agnes Murphy (Jim). Blessed with cherished memories are her son Michael (Mary Keough); daughters: Veronica Whittle (Kevin), Gerri Pitcher (Jim), Sharon Kelly (John) and Marilyn Butt (Selby); daughter-in-law Lorraine Mills (Don Brenton); brother Bernard Pittman (Barbara); special sisters-in-law: Pearl, Florence and Helen Pittman; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a large number of nieces and nephews; the Sisters, nurses, staff and residents of St. Patrick’s Mercy Home and her dearest friend, Susie. Visitation at Caul’s Funeral Home LeMarchant Road on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., and Thursday from 10-12 p.m., 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Teresa’s Church on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. with burial to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to St. Patrick’s Mercy Home or to a charity of one’s choice.
