Muriel E. Christie
passes away at 103 CHRISTIE, Muriel Ethel, 103, Roseway Manor, Sandy Point, formerly of Barrington Passage, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2012 in Roseway Manor. Born in Shag Harbour on April 17, 1909, she was a daughter of the late Angus and Ethel (Stoddard) Greenwood. She was very active in her church. She worked at the Barrington Passage Post Office for eight years. She had been married to her husband, Murray, for 61 years. She is survived by sons, Lorraine (Florence), Toronto; Bruce (Bertha), Barrington; daughter, Joyce Blades, Jordan Falls; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great, great granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband, Murray; brothers, Edward, Wilfred, Joseph, Allison; sisters, Mary, Lena, Ruth; half-sisters, Leah, Hazel. The funeral service was held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 from St. James United Church, Barrington Passage, Rev. Sim Rushton officiating. Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Barrington Passage.
