Charles “Murry” Turner, age 86, of Windsor, Hants County, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2012 in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on April 16, 1926 in Three Mile Plains, Hants County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elsie Turner. Murray collected wallets, flashlights and batteries. He loved music, playing the bones, spoons and guitar, teasing people and had a great love of animals especially dogs. He was a kid at heart and his face always lit up when someone gave him a toonie. Murray lived with Charles and Elinor Burke for twenty five years before moving to the Dykeland Lodge in Windsor. Surviving are the Burke family and also the staff of Dykeland Lodge who Murray considered to be his family. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters. Visitation was 9:30 – 10am Thursday, July 5, 2012, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service followed at 10 am in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Debra Mosher officiated. Interment was held in the Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. Donations in memory of Murry, were requested to be made to the Dykeland Lodge, 124 Cottage Street, Windsor.
