It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, Ann Lewis at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on Tuesday July 10, 2012.
Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of Mrs. Sarah Corbett and the late John Corbett.
She was employed for many years at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital up until her retirement. She was a wonderful mother who lived for her grandchildren and children. They were the light of her life. She enjoyed gardening, baking and spending time outdoors. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Ann is survived by her husband, Bob; two daughters, Tracy Lewis, Halifax, Mary Beth Lewis, Dartmouth; son, Robert (Wendy) Lewis, Sydney River; three precious grandchildren, Colin, Erika and Robyn. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda, Diane and Gail; brother, Ritchie; best friends and sisters-in-law, Vina and Monica as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Besides her father, she was predeceased by her sister, Lorraine and brother, Joe.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 12 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 13 in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Cape Breton Cancer Centre.
The family would like to thank Dr. E. Cameron for her dedication to our mother over the years. Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for all your support and compassion given to Ann.
