The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, of retired R.C.M.P. Staff Sergeant Ian Drummond, of Summerside, and formally of South Freetown, aged 64 years. Ian served with the R.C.M.P. for 32 years and 6 years as Chief for Summerside Police Services. Born in Summerside, he was the son of the late Wilbert and Jessie (Montgomery) Drummond. Survived by his wife Joanne (MacDonald) Drummond; daughters Sarah Drummond (Jason Marriott), Halifax, NS; Katherine Drummond (David Hodges), Toronto, ON; brothers Stuart (Ada) Drummond; Thane (Ann) Drummond; Robin (Kathie) Drummond; sister Gail (Fred) Meadows; sister-in-law Melda (Brian) Breneman; brother-in-law Scot (Leah) MacDonald; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Friday, then to Trinity United Church, Summerside, for funeral service at 10:30 a.m Interment in Peoples Cemetery, Freetown.
