Stanley “Scott” Smith, 52 of Washington Street, New Glasgow, passed away July 10, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of Margaret (Weir) Smith and the late Edward “Bud” Smith.
Scott was a life long resident of New Glasgow where he was employed with Atlantic Superstores for many years as a meat cutter.
He is survived by his wife the former Phyllis Rae, New Glasgow; sons Scott Edward (Nicola), Halifax; John Rae, at home; daughters Amanda Lorraine (Jason Tree), New Glasgow; Julie Lynn, at home; grandchildren Ceilidh and William; sisters: Nancy Jardine, Union Centre; Sherry Anderson, Little Harbour; Susan Langille, Mountain Road.
He was predeceased by a brother John.
His remains will rest in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow for visiting from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday from where funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Charles McPherson presiding.
Cremation to follow.
