It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a loving husband, father, brother and friend. Donald ‘Donnie’ Billard, age 67, of Glace Bay passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, Donnie was the son of the late Ernest and Alfreda (Payne) Billard.
Donnie will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Rosella (Calder); stepsons, Stephen, Kenneth, Patrick, David Nearing; brothers, Gerald (Ruby), Jack (Ann), Ray; sisters, Dorothy (James) Munden, Beth, Beverly and Eileen (Blaise) Bigley.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Gordon, Charles, Art, sisters, Joan and Ernestine.
The family would like to thank Dr. Cadegan and a special thanks to Dr. Harless for their care of Donnie during his illness.
In honouring Donnie’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and guidance of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Judi Phillips officiating.
Donations in Donnie’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
