Lloyd George Kerr, of Gray Street, Sydney, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his family.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Dan and Gladys (Burton) Kerr.
Lloyd was a member of the United Baptist Church, Sydney. For 42 years, he was a dedicated employee in the mechanical department of the Heavy Mills at Sydney Steel.
Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Eileen (Penticost); dearly loved by daughters, Susan (James) McQuaid, Ontario and Donna (Doug) MacDonald, Truro; sons, Ross (Cathy), Glendon, Alta. and Glenn, Halifax; sisters, Eileen, Sydney and Evelyn, Kincardine, Ont.; brother, Gordon, Sydney; eight grandchildren, Cherie, Michelle, Steven, Daniel, Christopher, Mitchell, Caitlin and Kyle and four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Jinny, Madison and Owen.
Lloyd was predeceased by his brother, Roddie and granddaughter, Kristen.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on today (Saturday) 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday 11 a.m., with Rev. Robert Hussey officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
