Passed on: July 12th, 2012
TOWER, NORVEL MELBOURNE - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Norvel Melbourne Tower, 72, of Sackville. Norvel passed away at the Drew Nursing Home on Thursday, July 12, 2012. Born in Middle Sackville, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Ardoine (King) Tower. Known to everyone as "Whiskers", Norvel was an avid hunter, loved the outdoors, camping, travelling and four-wheeling. He had a keen interest in animals and especially his "little buddy" Raulington. Norvel worked as a welder at the Enterprise Foundry for 34 years. At the age of 50, he embarked upon a new career with JP Baughan as a truck driver until retirement. He was Poppa to his four grandchildren all of which he thought the sun rose and set upon. He was a great family man and will be sadly missed by his wife, Marney (Kay) of Sackville; one daughter Rhonda (Barry Hicks) Tower; one son, Kevin (Susan) Tower; four grandchildren, Ashley (Joseph Holownia) Rowe, Jonathan Rowe, Victoria Tower, and Logan Tower; one brother Elwyn (Anne-Marie) Tower; as well as several nieces and nephews. Norvel was predeceased by his parents.
At Norvel's request there will be no service. The family would like to welcome all friends and family to a time of visitation at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300), from 6 to 8 pm on Sunday, July 15. Donations in Norvel's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society. www.jonesfuneralhome.ca
