HOLT: Thomas Dewayne Holt, age 14, of Swift Current, Sk passed away Friday, July 6, 2012 at home peacefully in his sleep. The Funeral Service was held, Friday, July 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the Church of the Open Bible with John Duncan officiating. The organist was Barb Mirau and a life tribute was presented by Yves LeBlanc. The ushers were Kirk Fehr and Pete Fehr. Pallbearers were Tom Mennear, Paris Gardiner, Bob Colter, Brad Johnson, Larry Person and Les MacKintosh. The interment service was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Swift Current, Sk. Thomas is survived by his father Brian Holt, mother Jeanette Holt; sisters Tina Fehr and Melody Backstrom, brothers Johnathon Backstrom and David Holt; uncles Dwight (Donna) Holt, Richard Holt, Francis (Karen) Holt; aunts Irene (Darin), Myrtle (Kim) Hutchinson and Barb (Mark); grandparents Barbara (Larry) Person, Vincent Holt and Linda Holt; niece and nephews Destiny Fehr and Matthew Fehr; cousins Kane Holt, Alia Holt, Christine Hutchinson, Michelle Huchinson Skye Nystrom and Edward Nystrom. He was predeceased by his grandfather Harold Holt; great grandparents William and May Holt, Myrtle and Fredrick Bressler and Herman and Mabel Wiker. Thomas was born on June 15, 1998 in Swift Current. He was attending grade seven at O. M. Irwin School. Thomas enjoyed playing Halo and Modern Warfare on his X-Box 360 and putting lego together and hanging out with his friends. Some of his favorite shows were Man vs Food, Cake Boss, Big Bang Theory, Corner Gas and My Name Is Earl. He loved watching the food network. Thomas will be sadly missed and never forgotten by those who knew him. He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was 7, but he never let that hold him back. His favorite word was "Mom". He always had a blanket with him where ever he was at home. His friends called him "Choo-Choo" and he enjoyed picking on his big sister Tina.
