The death occurred, surrounded by his loving family, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Monday, July 16, 2012, of Alfred Mugridge of Summerside, aged 77 years. Veteran of the Korean War. Born in Hebron, he was the son of the late Nelson and Matilda "Tillie" (MacIsaac) Mugridge. Survived by his children Gary (Tanya) Mugridge, Belmont; Karen (Greg) McKenna, Newton; Cindy (Kevin) Simmons, Wilmot Valley; step-children Ivan (Jean) Blanchard, Miscouche; Eileen (Brian) Sears, Miscouche; David (Ethel) Blanchard, Linkletter; Reggie (Bet) Blanchard, Summerside; Nelson (Sharon) Blanchard, Summerside; Ronnie (Lesley) Blanchard, Charlottetown; Wayne (Thelma) Blanchard, Miscouche; Michael (Donna) Blanchard, Summerside; 26 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brothers Edward (Rena) Mugridge, Ellerslie; Sterling (Linda) Mugridge, Stewiacke, N.S.; sister Liane (Kenny) Dixon, Summerside; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his first wife Kathleen (Dekker) Mugridge; second wife Lucy (Cormier) Blanchard Mugridge; grandson Bobby Blanchard; granddaughter Jennifer Blanchard; and by his great-granddaughter Rylee Faith Blanchard DesRoche; brother Warren Mugridge; sister Velma Mugridge; and by a nephew Andrew Dixon. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Thursday, then to Trinity United Church, Summerside, for funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Peoples Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the P.E.I. Humane Society would be appreciated. Members of the Summerside Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Service of Remembrance at the funeral home Wednesday at 6:45 p.m.
