Lorraine Muise
Passed in: Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada
MUISE, Lorraine Marie - The family and extended family are saddened by the loss of their loved one, Lorraine. However, we are grateful to have been part of her life and we are joyful knowing that she is in the presence of her loving Saviour. Lorraine passed away peacefully at the age of 80 at Yarmouth Regional Hospital in the arms of her daughter, Eileen and surrounded by her son, Larry, son-in-law, Mark and daughter-in-law, Kim and her granddaughters. In her younger years, she worked as a waitress at the Eaton’s Center in Montreal. She was a stay at home Mom; she loved her children. The past 4 ½ years, while living with her daughter and son-in-law, have been the happiest of her life. She glowed with joy whenever her great-grandchildren visited; Camryn called her GaGa! Lorraine volunteered for various community events; she was an avid seamstress, quilter, knitter and enjoyed going to the library to get her Nora Roberts or Danielle Steele novels. She truly enjoyed shopping, going to Halifax, staying with Janet and eating out! She couldn’t wait for Saturday morning to get to Denise’s for her weekly hairdo. She gave generously to many. Most of her life she worshipped at the St. Agnes Church in Quinan; the last four at St. Ambrose Cathedral in Yarmouth. Left to grieve are her husband of 60 years, Clarence; daughter, Eileen Muise-Stevens (Mark); son, Larry Muise (Kim), grandchildren, Denise Vacon (Beth Evans), Tammy Vacon, Michelle Thomas (Danny), Johnathon Muise (Lisa), Nicole Muise (Elvis Campbell) and Tyler Muise; as well as two heart-adopted daughters of Eileen, Jeannine d’Eon (Wendell) and Claudette d’Eon (Johnny). She had the fortune to know five great-grandchildren. She leaves behind one sister, Emily Vacon, Tusket; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Judith Muise of Quinan; sisters, Genevive Vetri and Eleanor Frotten; brothers, Wilfred Muise, Leo Muise and Paul Muise. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation took place Wednesday, July 18 from 7-9 p.m. with prayers at 8 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home. Funeral mass was held Thursday, July 19 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Agnes Catholic Church, Quinan, Father John MacPherson officiated. Interment will take place at a later date in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only by request. Donations in Lorraine’s memory may be made to Victorian Order of Nurses, Tri-County Branch. …. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; Blessed be the name of the Lord!
It will be worth it all, when we see Jesus;
Life’s trials will seem so small when we see Christ:
One glimpse of His dear face, all sorrow will erase;
So bravely run the race, till we see Christ!
