Carl Malcolm Neilsen

NEILSEN, CARL MALCOLM – It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of “Max/Mac” Neilsen which occurred on Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Moncton Hospital. Malcolm was born in North View (Plaster Rock) on October 25, 1922, the son of the late Carl and Janie (Gallop) Neilsen of Perth-Andover. Malcolm worked with his father as a farmer until 1955 when he assumed a position with the Federal Department of Agriculture. He moved to Moncton in 1960 and retired from the Department of Agriculture in 1986. He is survived by his devoted wife, Alta (Wark) of 71 years; three children, Seward (Joanne Grant) Neilsen of Rothesay, Brenda (Kirk) Knowles of Fort Myers, Florida and Dwight (Kenda Wilson) Neilsen of Edmonton, Alberta; five grandchildren, Michael (Christine Fairweather) Neilsen of Calgary, Alberta; Kristi (Anthony) Stuart of Grand Bay Westfield; Adam and Andrew Neilsen of Edmonton, Alberta; Amanda Bourque of Charleston, South Carolina; three great grandchildren, Noah, Isaiah and Joshua Neilsen of Calgary, Alberta. Malcolm is survived by three sisters, Phyllis Barton of Bangor, Maine; Greta Kimball of Presque Isle, Maine and Beryl (Jay) Young of Ferndale, Washington and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Yvonne MacDonald and three brothers, James, Everald and Ova Neilsen, and grandson, Jordan Bourque.
Arrangements are under the direction of White’s Funeral Home, Perth-Andover, NB (506-273-3133) where visitation will be held from 1pm to 3pm on July 21, 2012. A memorial service will be held at White’s Funeral Home at 3 p.m. on July 21, 2012 with interment immediately following at the Presbyterian Rural Cemetery in Perth-Andover. For those who wish, remembrances may be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Canadian Red Cross or a charity of one’s choice.
