It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Rita passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney on Tuesday, July 17, 2012.
Rita was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy (Coates) and William Hudson.
Rita was a stay at home mom who loved her family dearly. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and her many friends. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
Rita is survived by her sister, Iva MacInnis; children, Eunice (Vincent) Anthony, Eleanor (Paul) MacDonald, Patsy Kendrick, Beverly Kendrick (at home), Clifford (Lisa), all of Sydney, Andrea (Jeff) Dalziel, PEI; grandson, Malcolm (at home) who was like her son. She is also survived by her 22 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Wilson (1993); daughter, Sharon White; sons-in-law, Douglas White, Pierce MacNeil and Don Moore; sister, Mildred; brothers, Lawrence and George.
Visitation will be held Friday July 20, 2012 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Saturday July 21, 2012 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bob Hussey officiating.
Reception to follow. Interment to take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
