COTTREAU, Jean Badden – 90, Wedgeport, formerly of Edinburgh, Scotland, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born May 14, 1922 in Burghead, Scotland, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Anne (Brown) Perrie. Jean came to Canada as a young war bride in 1944. She enjoyed bingo, crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She loved to crochet and knit. She always looked forward to visiting Christine at Harbourside Lodge. She was an avid reader. She is survived by her children, Anne (Delbert) Richard, Arcadia; Michael (Theresa), Brampton, Ontario; Barbara (David) Hamilton, Lower Wedgeport; Christine Cottreau, Harbourside Lodge, Yarmouth; 7 grand children; 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Austin Joseph Cottreau; son, Peter Gordon Cottreau; brother, Peter Perrie. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes Ltd., Wedgeport. Visitation was held Thursday, July 19 from 7-9 p.m., with prayers at 8 p.m., in the Wedgeport Funeral Home. Funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. Friday at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport, Father Wieslaw Pupuga officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in Jean’s memory may be made to the Harbourside Lodge, Yarmouth or the Victorian Order of Nurses, Yarmouth Branch.
