June JAMES (1933 – 2012)

June Marie James (née McLeod), of Calgary, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the age of 79 years after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born in Lower Truro, she was the seventh child (of eight) of Harry and Marcella McLeod, both deceased. June attended Acadia University where she met Edward James, an aspiring geologist from New Glasgow whom she married in 1953. June went on to become an X-ray technician, and lived in Ontario, B.C., Australia, Indonesia and finally, Calgary. She enjoyed playing cards and loved her summers in Nova Scotia. June is survived by her spouse, Edward, her two sons, Andrew and Ian, her daughter-in-law Marcha Davidson, her two grandchildren, Ella and Cameron and her brothers Bud, Gerald, Daryl and Gary McLeod.
