WILLIAMS, ANNIE JESSIE (MacKAY) - March 28, 1916 - July 19, 2012 - Annie was born and raised at St. Georges Channel, West Bay, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. After spending most of her adult life in Fredericton, New Brunswick; Annie and her husband (Clifton Embree Williams) retired to Port Hawkesbury, Cape Breton. Shortly after Clifton's death in 1998, Annie moved into a granny suite on her daughter's and son-in-law's property in Carp, Ontario. For 10 years Annie enjoyed the comfort and peace of living beside her caring and loving daughter, Donna. Annie passed away peacefully in the Fairview Manor, Almonte, surrounded by family at the age of 96. Annie was a devoted and loving mother to her two daughters, Helen Duff (Larry) and Donna McCann (John). She was a cherished grandmother to James and Alex Duff, and Marcia Wilson and Jake Hunt. A great-grandmother to Ella and Abigail Duff; Cameron, Morgan, Xander and Ryan Hunt and Jackson Wilson. Annie is survived by her brother Duncan MacKay. She is predeceased by her sisters Hazel Pursey, Violet Shea, Dolena Calder, Helen MacLachlan, Katherine Easthouse and her brothers John, Hector, William and Alec MacKay.
Visitation will be held at the Carp Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 115 Rivington Street, Carp, Ontario on Monday, July 23, from 1:00 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. There will be a Memorial Service at the Black River United Church in Cape Breton and interment at the United Church Cemetery in Port Hawkesbury later this summer. Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to the wonderful and caring staff at the Fairview Manor, Almonte. A special thanks to one of her nurses, Marcia Wilson - Annie's grand daughter.
