Marion Kathleen Moore - 91, of Kentville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, July 14, 2012 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in New Russell, Lunenburg County, she was a daughter of the late Wallace and Minnie (Alders) Russell. Marion loved to play music and could play piano, guitar, and violin all by ear. She was always happy to play for seniors and nursing homes residence, and get togethers. Years ago she played music at many dances. She was a member of St. Johns’ Anglican Church, Church Street and was a member of the A.C.W. at St. James’ Anglican Church, Kentville. She volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society for over 20 years and in 1996 and 1997 received certificates of appreciation for outstanding volunteer service benefiting her community. In June 2003 Marion received a certificate of appreciation from the government of Canada for her volunteer service. She was a member of St. Eulalie Rebekah Lodge for 70 years. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Frank; two daughters, Dianna ( Ivany) Selfridge, Kentville; Judith ( Robert) MacDonald, Rockland; two sons, Frank Jr. ( Deborah), Windsor; Steven ( Susan Crowell) Centreville; ten grandchildren; Jamie, Cindy, Michael, Wendy, Jennifer, Rob, Tracy, Joslyn, Kevin, and Jordan; 21 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and sister-in-law Winnie (Molyneaux) Palmer, Kentville. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was predeceased by two sisters, Ella and Louie; two brothers Foster and Murray; a brother-in-law John Molyneaux; two sons-in-law; Gordon Ivany and Arthur Selfridge. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. No visitation or reception by request. The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in St. Johns’ Anglican Church, Church Street, Port Williams, Archdeacon David Garrett, Canon S. J. P. Davies and Reverend Cathy Pharo officiating. Private Family burial took place in the Garden of Rest Cemetery, Parish of St. James, Kentville. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Annapolis Valley Hospice Foundation. Special thanks to Dr. R. Gunn, Dr. M. Sinclair, the nursing staff of Medical A. Valley Regional Hospital, E.H.S., Care Force, and Jennifer Pope Waterbury Continuing Care for their compassion and wonderful care of our Mother. Also thanks to Archdeacon David Garrett and Reverend Cathy Pharo for their comfort and prayers with Mom and our family during Mom’s last days.
