Jennie Nelson
It is with great sadness that the family of Jennie Lorinda Nelson, 90, announce her passing on Tuesday, July 24th,2012 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Upper Nappan. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of late John and Lily (Hunter) Rolfe.
Jennie and her husband Banty owned and operated Sonny Boy Bakery in Amherst for over 40 years. Jennie enjoyed having company; she was always very concerned about the well-being of her family and always willing to lend a helping hand.
Jennie was a member of the Pythian Sisters, former member of the Amherst Lions Club and the RCAF Amherst.
She is survived by her son Graham (Sharon), daughter JoAnn (Larry) Cormier, both of Amherst; grandchildren Kathy (Ralph) Sexton, Kevin (Laurie), Tracy(Lester) and Leann; great grandchildren Lyndsey, Katie, Rebecca, Kyle and Ryan. Also survived by Sister Fanny Twombly and brothers Hibbert, and Terry (Sarah) all of Springhill, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jennie was predeceased by her husband Banty, her daughter Norma Maddison, brothers Leander, Murray ``Babe``, Ernie and Fred, and son in law Terry Maddison.
Visitation will take place at Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst Thursday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held Friday, July 27th at 2pm at Campbell’s Chapel with Rev. Bob Mack officiating.
Interment will take place in the Leamington Cemetery.
Donations in Jennie`s memory may be made to the Cumberland VON or to the L.A. Animal Shelter.
