SAWATZKY: With sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Dorothy Sawatzky passed away peacefully on July 20, 2012 at the age of 78. Recently a resident of Sask Hospital in North Battleford she had been a long time resident of Swift Current. Dorothy was born Feb 19, 1934 and grew up in Eston, SK. She married John Sawatzky in 1954 and they moved to Swift Current early in the 1960's to raise their family. She was predeceased by her husband, of 49 years, John in 2003. Dorothy worked for McKerracher Support Services and Mental Health for several years assisting many clients with keeping their homes neat and clean. She loved camping in the Cypress Hills and many summer holidays were spent there with the family. Dorothy enjoyed painting landscapes in both watercolour and acrylics and enjoyed crocheting, creating many beautiful afghans for her children and grandchildren. She will be missed dearly. Dorothy is survived by her sister Marge Warner of Eston: her children Deb (Wayne) Kaiser, Dan (Tracy) Sawatzky and Doug Sawatzky: her grandchildren Jessica, Wade and Brandi Kaiser and Dillan, Elly and Conlin Sawatzky: her great grandchildren Savannah and Nevaeh. The family would like to thank the staff of both the Sask Hospital and the Union Hospital in North Battleford for the excellent care they provided Dorothy for the past three years. We would also like to thank the many people that cared for Dorothy during her many years in Swift Current. The funeral service will be held at Warren's Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday July 28, 2012 at 10:00am.
