BELTER, Magdelena (Madge) aged 90 of Swift Current, formally of Rush Lake passed away on Sunday July 22, 2012, at the Palliser Care Centre. She was born in Morse, Saskatchewan on November 17, 1921 and is survived by her 3 sons, Clifford, Clarence (Colleen) and Larry (Valarie). Grandchildren Micheal (Faye), Kathy, Charlotte, Tracey (Susan), Rory, Cody (Melissa), Shane (Shanna), Janelle (Jonathan), great grandchildren Mitchell, Danielle, Brooke, Hunter, Justis, Caleb, Mariah, Emily, Gracie and Marcus. Madge is also survived by her sister Evelyn of Swift Current, sister-in-law Agnes of Steinbach, Manitoba, brother-in-law Lawrence (Lorraine) of Chilliwack, BC, sister-in-law Doris Bjornson of Moose Jaw, ex-daughter-in-law Elma of Lethbridge, Alberta and many nieces and nephews. Madge was predeceased by her husband Charles, daughter-in-law Elizabeth and Grandson Sheldon Madge was a homemaker and very involved in the family farm. Her enjoyment of cooking lead to various employment opportunities, the Rush Lake Hotel, Pioneer Grain Elevator crews and various Highway crews when they worked in the area. She was an avid card player and enjoyed playing her favorite game Russian rummy with family and friends. In 1982 Madge and Charlie retired to Swift Current where she enjoyed gardening, bingo, crocheting and making quilts for her children and grandchildren, these will be forever treasured. The Family service was held on July 25 at Memory Gardens officiated by Pastor Brad Julien. Obituary read by grandson Shane Belter. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in Madge's name can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Palliser Care Centre Activities Committee.
