It is with great sadness we the family announces the passing of a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, Wayne Muir on July 30, 2012, at the Halifax Infirmary with his family by his side.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late, Robert and Julia (Petrie) Muir.
Wayne was a retired coal miner, loved working in his yard and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bernadette; son, Wayne Jr. (Gaye) and daughter, Sherry (Lauchie); brothers, James, Brian and sister, Debbie (Mike); grandchildren, Devon and Kaleigh Muir, Christopher and Andrew Young; two special nieces, Julie and Tanya; special aunts and uncles, Alex, Jen Petrie, Dolores, Frank McNeil; sisters and brothers in-law, Cheryl (Greg), Sue (Mike), Paula (George), Phonie (Dorothy), Greg (Denise).
Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, from 5-9 p.m. and a funeral service will be Friday, Aug. 3 at 2 p.m. in the Parish of Saint Leonard with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, New Victoria, followed by a luncheon at the parish hall, Convent Street.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500.
