Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Monday, July 30, 2012, Myles Slade of Salmon Cove, age 92 years. Predeceased by wife: Ivy; parents: James and Flora Slade; son-in-law: David Bradbury; brothers: Ezekiel, Jabez and Albert; sisters: Adlena and Louise. Left to mourn, one daughter: Beverley Bradbury, Peterborough, ON; four sons: Joseph (Ethel Cole), Salmon Cove, Everett (Maureen), Scarborough, ON, Bert (Helen), Ajax, ON and Harrison, Peterborough, ON; eight grandchildren: Gail (Ed), Joseph (Cindy), Andrew (Rumi), Kyra (Tim), Cherie (Jim), Colleen (Jason), Christopher (Patricia) and Marie (Phillip); nine great-grandchildren: John, Sabrina, Spencer, Erika, Karen, Jonathan, Cameron, Jillian and Gabrielle; one sister: Susie (Harrison) Noseworthy, Stittsville, ON; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear. Rev. Roscoe Cole and Rev. Wayne Blackwood conducted the funeral service on Thursday, August 2 at Riverside United Church, Salmon Cove. Interment took place in Riverside United Cemetery, Salmon Cove. Donations in his memory may be made to Riverside United Church or to a charity of one's choice.
