Of Shearstown passed away peacefully at the Carbonear General Hospital on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Mrs. Mercer was 89 years old. She leaves to mourn her loving family: Children: Maxwell (Elizabeth) Mercer, George (Joyce) Mercer, Effie (Blair) Bachelder, Howard (Lois) Mercer &Claude (Janice) Mercer. Grandchildren: Wade Mercer, Gloria May, Krista Lynch, George Mercer Jr, Katie O’Quinn, Steven Bachelder, Sarah Anderson, Kristen Mercer, Aimee Mercer, Robyn Mercer, Ben Mercer & Max Mercer. 14 Great-grandchildren, 1 Great-great-grandson & 2 God-daughters. Siblings: Cassandra King, Eli (Sylvia) Hussey & Eldon (Bertha) Hussey. Predeceased: Husband: Maxwell Mercer Sr. Daughter: Gloria Mercer. Parents: George & Mary Hussey. Siblings: Eric Hussey, Albert Hussey & Mae Rodgers. Infant Great-grandsons: Liam Bachelder & Garrett Mercer. The funeral service will take place at St. Mark’s Anglican Church & Cemetery, Shearstown, on Friday, Agust 3, 2012, 2 p.m. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Slade’s Funeral Home, Access Road, Bay Roberts, on Thursday from 10:30 a.m.-12 noon, 2-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. and Friday: 10:30 a.m. -12 Noon.
