MORTON, Ivan Russell – 73, of Brooklyn Yarmouth Co., passed away August 1, 2012 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital surrounded by loved ones. Born July 2, 1939 in Argyle, he was a son of the late Russell and Lidia (Green) Morton. Ivan was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved his friends and family dearly. He was a fisherman for most of his life in Argyle and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Ivan was also known to be a handyman. Ivan is survived by his loving wife, Lynda Morton, Brooklyn; daughters, Marsha Morton (Gary) Hebron; Holly Morton, Brooklyn; sons, Chris, Windsor; Curtis(Dawn), Springhaven; Terry(Paula), Wedgeport; brother, Richard (Nancy), Argyle Sound; sisters, Bertha(Bruce) Christie, Barrington; Doris(Hugh) Lawrence, Middleton; Francis MacDougal, Yarmouth, Patricia(George) Thibodeau, Arichat; Nancy(Russell) d’Entremont, Argyle Head; Iris(Louie) Hilton, Glenwood; Arlene (Randy) Corning, Eel Brook; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brother, Ken; and sister, Judy. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth. There was no visitation by family request. A funeral service was held Saturday, August 4 at 4 p.m from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Robert Baker officiated. Interment followed in the Argyle Head Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in Ivan’s memory may be made to the Yarmouth S.P.C.A.
