It is with great sadness that the family of Kathleen Myra Taylor-Whalen, WW II Veteran and last surviving child of Sarah Jane and Leonard Ellsworth wish to announce her passing at the Health Science Centre in St. John’s, NL on July 14, 2012 at the age of 88 years. She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Jerry (Marianne) Taylor, John (Heather) Taylor, two daughters, Julie Taylor and Brenda Felix step children, Roy Whalen Jr., Anna Whalen, Elizabeth Blythe, brother-in-law James (Rose) Taylor and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by husbands Roy Whalen in 2006 and Robert Taylor in 1998, son Bobby in 1946 and grandson John in 1983, brothers Douglas and Wilson and sisters, Susie, Julia, Mildred and Myrtle. Visitation will be held Monday August 6, 2012 at Cauls Funeral Home in St. John’s, NL. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, Patrick Street, St. John’s, at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday August 7, 2012. Interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, St. John’s. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made at any Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion to the Poppy Trust Fund Branch 35.
