T. Gordon Stamp

World War II Veteran. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, T. Gordon Stamp, at the Caribou Veterans Memorial Pavilion on Thursday, August 2, 2012, age 98 years. Predeceased by his father and mother, Richard and Catherine Stamp, brothers Cyril, Dick and Bill, sister, Kay McGrath and grandson Michael Gordon. Leaving to mourn, with cherished memories, his loving wife, Mary (Peddigrew), 10 children: Gordon, Jr. (Elaine); Dave (Sharon); Gerry (Rose), Calgary, AB; Sharon (Lloyd Lipinski), Markham, ON; Rev. Father Doug Stamp, Toronto, ON; Rick (Clare); Garry; Marilou (Greg Brummond), Red Deer AB; Laurie (Jackie), Edmonton, AB; and Lynn, Edmonton, AB; 19 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Joan Stamp (Labrador City). Special thanks are extended to the staff of the DVA Veterans Pavilion (especially 2 South B) for their excellent care to dad over the past 4 years. Dad was a member of the 59th (Newfoundland) Heavy Regiment and the 166th Royal Newfoundland Regiment; chartered member of the St. John’s Lions Club; lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 56); member of Knights of Columbus; member of the Singing Legionnaires and a Chartered Member of the Anchormen Barbershop Chorus. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Thursday, August 9th from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday, August 10th from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass to take place at Mary Queen of Peace Parish, Torbay Road on Saturday, August 11th at 10:00 a.m., cremation to follow. Interment in the Field of Honour, Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations can be made to the Jim Shields Garden, Caribou Memorial Veterans Pavilion.
