It is with great sadness, that we announce the peaceful passing of Eileen Moore of Roaches Road, on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Born in New Waterford in 1932, Eileen was the daughter of the late Patrick and Elizabeth (Murphy) O’Flaherty.
Eileen worked for many years as a nursing supervisor and later as director of nursing at New Waterford Consolidated Hospital, until her retirement in 1991.
Eileen is survived by her son, Bryan (Sharon), River Ryan; two daughters, Eileen Shaw (Hector), Coldbrook, N.S., Shauna, Sackville, N.S.; five special grandchildren, Ryan, Garrett, Brea, Kara and Farrah. She is also survived by two brothers, Patrick (Eileen), William (Jackie), both in River Ryan; five sisters, Mary Gwynne-Harrison, England, Terry MacNeil (Don), St. Catharines, Ont., Bernadette Joyner (Arnold), Owen Sound, Ont., Joan Stevenson (Benny), Windsor, Ont., Yvon Belle, Burlington, Ont.; and special friends, Christine Shaw and Carmella MacDonald.
Besides her parents, Eileen was predeceased by her husband, Charles Moore, two daughters, Charlene and Karen and three sisters, Anna, Kay and Gwen.
There will be no visitation as requested by Eileen. A private interment will take place in Mt. Carmel Cemetery under the direction of the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford.

The family express heart felt thanks to Dr. Peter Littlejohn, Dr. John Ritter and staff at Medical Floor and the ER at New Waterford Hospital for their great kindness and compassion shown to Eileen and ensuring her final journey was peaceful and respectful.
As an expression of sympathy for Eileen, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
