It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we the family announce the passing of Phyllis MacLeod a resident of My Cape Breton Home for Seniors on Aug. 5, 2012.
She was the daughter of the late Parmey and Mary (Ginn) Margettie.
Phyllis was a retired bank teller from the CIBC. She enjoyed many things in life but her passions were bowling, darts and curling. She was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion Br 12.
She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Richmond) Malcolm, Cleveland, N.S.; and a brother, Stanley (Marie) Margettie, Sydney, N.S.; two grandchildren Rod Hill, Cleveland, and Tanya (Dave) Marryatt, Dartmouth; and two great-grandchildren, Bria and Ayden as well as several loving nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was predeceased by her loving husband Roderick ‘Lefty’ MacLeod and one brother Lou.
Phyllis leaves behind many friends. To know her was to love her.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to My Cape Breton Home For Seniors, 137 Riverdale Dr., Sydney, N.S., B1R-0A9.
Visitation will be at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Sydney Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ron Coole officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
