Lorraine, Margaret Jean - 92, Truro passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Val’s Rest Home in Hilden. Born on January 12, 1920 in Londonderry, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Johanna (Hurley) Higgins. Marg lived most of her life in and around Truro, but her cottage at Mattatall Lake was the place she found to be her favourite. She spent many happy, quiet days with her dog Kemo by her side. Marg was predeceased by her husband, James; sisters, Agnes Wentzel, Violet Smith; brothers, Robert, Fulmore and Tom Higgins. She leaves behind sisters-in-law, Shirley Lorraine, Anne Haugn and several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She will be sadly missed by friends and family. Marg was truly a special lady. We would like to thank Val Dorey and staff for the years of wonderful care. Marg referred to them as her “special girls”. Also thank you to the V.O.N. who were always so kind; the palliative care team of Dr. Smith, Lisa and Dr. McCarthy for his patience and care throughout the years. To Kevin for his visits – they meant so much to her and to Colby and Rennan who made her smile everytime they came for candy. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 8 from 1:00 pm until time of the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Mr. Gerald Jenkinson officiating.
