FULLER, Hilda Louise, 99, of Shelburne, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012 in Roseway Manor. Born May 4, 1913, she was the eldest daughter of the late John and Laura (MacKay) Nicoll of Clyde River. Hilda was a graduate of the Provincial Normal School and took many university courses over the years to update her teaching certification. She was a dedicated elementary school teacher for 42 years in the Town of Shelburne until her retirement in 1975. After her retirement she traveled to many countries visiting her friends and family. Hilda was a faithful member of the Christ Anglican Church in Shelburne and was an active volunteer in many organizations. She also served as a Regent of the Roseway Chapter I.O.D.E. Following the death of her husband she kept his insurance business going for a short time while still teaching. Hilda is survived by her sister, Phyllis Swaine, Barrington Passage; brother, Ward Nicoll, Clyde River, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, David; daughter, Anne Louise; sister, Lulu Crampton and brothers, Douglas and Karl Nicoll. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. No visitation by request. A graveside service took place on Sunday, August 12 in Pine Grove Cemetery with Reverend Ed Trevors officiating. Donations in memory of Hilda may be made to a charity of choice. A very special thanks to the staff of Roseway Manor and Dr. Riley for taking great care of Hilda.
