With deep sadness we announce the passing of John Head at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Renolda; sons, John, Barry and Stephen (Alana); grandchildren, Brett and Jordan.
Born in New Waterford, he was raised by the late Ralph and Theresa Head. He grew up as a brother to Bill, Ralph and Leo and Ann Fortune.
John worked in Lingan No. 18 and No. 26 coal mines.
After moving to Sydney, he spent many hours volunteering at Loaves and Fishes.
Besides his parents, Ralph and Theresa, he was predeceased by brothers, Bill and Leo; sister, Ann Fortune; ex-wife, Jean Donahue and birth mother, Julia Butts.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chants Funeral Home. There will be no visitation at John’s request. Cremation has taken place.
We, the family, would like to thank the doctors and staff of the CCU, IMCU and ICU, for the compassion and the great care they gave John during his illness.
